What is NEEPCO Meritious Scholarship ?

North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited Scholarships Scheme is being formulated to extend financial assistance to the project affected and local needy students and children of NEEPCO Employees to promote and encourage higher education. NEEPCO Scholarships are designed to cater to the needs of students in a wide variety of areas ranging from 10+,1 ITI, Engineering to MBBS and other Degree Courses. All scholarships are being provided strictly on a merit cum-need basis, with special encouragement to girl students, physically challenged students, and students from the North East States. 

What is Eligibility Criteria ?

  • For 10+/ITI/Diploma Scholarships, students securing a minimum of 85% marks in their 10th and 12th standard examinations or equivalent apply.
  •  For Degree Courses, students securing a minimum of 85% marks in their 12th standard examination or equivalent and having a confirmed admission into a full time degree course.
  •  For Engineering Scholarship – Students securing a minimum of 85% marks in their 12th standard examination or equivalent and having a confirmed admission into a full time Engineering Degree course.
  •  For MBBS Scholarships- Students securing a minimum of 85% marks in their 12th standard examination or equivalent and having a confirmed admission into a full time MBBS Degree course.
  • The minimum and maximum age limits are 15 years and 25 years respectively.
  •  The Student should not avail any other scholarship facilities from any institute/Government.

What are benefits ?

The scholarship shall be paid to Institution/College. 

• 10/Diploma course from ITIs  - Rs.12,OOO/- per annum.Institution/College.

• 10/Diploma course from ITIs  - Rs.12,OOO/- per annum.

• B.Sc/B.Com/ B.A. etc.                - Rs. 12,000/- per annum.

 • B.E/ B.Tech.                                  -Rs.36,OOO/- per annum.

• MBBS                                               -Rs.36,OOO/- per annum.

How to Apply?

Fresh

First-Time Applicants (The eligible students who never applied before, eligible students who applied before but have not received NEEPCO Scholarship and the eligible students who had applied and received a Scholarship for previous course but are willing to apply for the new course)

 Step 1 : Visit the official website and download the application form from the official website or you can directly download it from below mentioned link.

Step 2 : The filled-in application in the prescribed format given in Annexure ‘C’ may be submitted to the Head of HR (of their respective Office/Project).

Step 3 : The employees of the Corporate Office may submit the applications through proper forwarding to the Personnel Officer (Welfare), NEEPCO Ltd., Shillong-793003, enclosing the relevant Annexures.

Renewal

For the Students who received Scholarship for the year 2019-20 and progressively pursuing the same Course in the current year

Step 1 : The filled-in application in the prescribed format given in Annexure ‘D’ may be submitted by the parents to the Head of HR (of their respective Office/Plant).

Step 2 : The employees of the Corporate Office may submit the application through proper forwarding to the Personnel Officer (Welfare), NEEPCO Ltd., Shillong, enclosing the relevant Annexures.

What are documents required ?

  •  A copy of a self-signed recent passport size photograph is to be affixed in the place provided in the Application Form.
  •  A true copy of the Pass certificate, and Mark-sheet in respect of the last examination passed should be enclosed along with the application.
  •  A copy of the certificate from the Competent Authority certifying the degree of Disability in respect of Physically Challenged / Differently Abled (VI- Visually Impairment, HI- Hearing Impairment & LDLoco motor Disability) wards should be enclosed along with the application.
  • The fields of Employee Code of the applicant parent, Bank Account No. of the applicant, Bank Name, Branch Name & IFSC Code in the application form are mandatory.
