What is Sahara India Scholarship ?
The Sahara India Scholarship Scheme For The Meritorious Students Of Low Income Group is offered by the Sahara Welfare Foundation, India. The objective of the foundation is to ensure the educational development of meritorious students, free from the economic of low-income group families. The scholarship is applicable for Indian students who wish to pursue Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies at any colleges in Pune and Pune District.
What is Eligibility Criteria ?
- Student must be a citizen of India
- Student must be a permanent resident of Pune or continuously living in Pune for the last 5 years
- To apply:-
- Under Graduation level
- 80% entry level percentage
- Post Graduation level
- 75% entry level percentage for Non- Professional courses (Science, Commerce, Arts etc.)
- 65% entry level percentage for Professional courses (Management, Medical, Engineers etc.)
- 5% grace in percentage for students reapplying in successive years for both professional and non-professional courses will be admissible
- The maximum age for a scholarship at graduation level shall be 22 years and for a scholarship at post-graduation level shall be 25 years
- Families having an annual income up to 03.00 lacs (Rupees Three lacs only), are eligible to apply for this scheme
- One child of a family shall be given a scholarship in one academic year

What are benefits ?
The scholarship provides Rs.9000/- for Graduation level and Rs.18,000/- for Post Graduation level students

What are Terms & Conditions ?
- The institutions where admission is sought should be recognized by the State or the Central Government
- The student shall be entitled for scholarship only if he/she is not availing any scholarship / financial aid / stipend from any other source whatsoever
- Students pursuing regular courses shall be eligible for applying for scholarship, correspondence or distance learning courses shall not be entertained under this scheme
- In the case of leaving the course mid-way or suspension and termination by the institute or if any case criminal case becomes pending in the court of law, the concerned student’s scholarship shall be stopped forthwith
- It shall be required to submit in writing if student is changing their institute or stream of study for Scholarship and institutional records
- A student will be eligible for the scholarship for a total duration not exceeding 5 years
- 5% of the total scholarship shall be reserved for recommendation of Sahara India Pariwar higher management
- There is no obligation on the part of Sahara India Pariwar to give employment to the scholarship holders
