What is The Next Genius Scholarship Program ?

The Next Genius Scholarship Program 2020 invites applications from outstanding Indian high school students to pursue their undergraduate education in the United States. In the last 3 years, the program has awarded scholarships worth USD 10 million to 112 students from 82 schools in India. In 2019-20, over USD 8 million worth of scholarships will be awarded to more than 100 students under the program. 


What is Eligibility Criteria ?

High School Seniors

Currently in Grade 12 (or gap year)

 

Citizenship

Indian citizen

Indian citizens living abroad

OCI Card Holders

Foreign nationals living/studying in India

 

Critical Thinking Ability

Strong creative problem-solving skills, both in academic and non-academic settings

 

Soft Skills

Strong team playing and communication skills. Positive attitude, charisma & leadership skill

 

Personal Vision

Strong desire to study abroad at one of our partner colleges. Desire to be an active member of the Next Genius community and give back to society

Need Aware

Ability to pay for living costs at college for a duration of 4 years (up to INR 10 Lac per year towards housing, food, insurance, flights, books)

What are benefits ?

Selected scholars will receive full and partial scholarships to study any 4-year undergraduate course at one of the following universities in the US:

  5. Knox College, Illinois
  6. Lynn University, Florida
  7. Millsaps College, Mississippi
  8. Texas Christian University, Texas
  9. The University of the South, Tennessee
  10. Union College, New York
  11. University of Rochester, New York
  12. Washington College, Maryland
  13. Wheaton College, Massachusetts

SELECTION CRITERIA

Following attributes will be looked for in the prospective scholars:

  • Critical Thinking Ability - Strong creative problem-solving skills, both in academic and non-academic settings
  • Soft Skills - Strong team playing and communication skills; Positive attitude, charisma & leadership skill
  • Personal Vision - Desire to be an active member of the Next Genius community and give back to society; Strong desire to study abroad at one of our partner colleges 
  • Need Aware - Ability to pay for living costs at college for a duration of 4 years (up to INR 8 Lac per year towards housing, food, insurance, flights, books)

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection for the registered is done in the following four stages:

Stage 1: In the first stage, candidates will need to take an 'Online Critical Thinking Test'. Top performers in the assessment are selected for the next level.

Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates are provided detailed information about the various scholarships and invited to identify college and course of preference

Stage 3: Candidates submit a complete college application to the college of their choice 

Stage 4: Candidates are invited to Mumbai for a personal interview, and selected scholars are awarded in a public award ceremony. 

The candidates must have the ability to pay for living costs at college for a duration of 4 years (up to INR 8 Lac per year towards housing, food, insurance, flights, books)
